Our 2024 Annual Conference, Thursday, October 10th, was packed with connection, collaboration, and learning as we worked together to improve digital equity in Philly! With over 100 leaders, organizations, and advocates in attendance, the event covered everything from career pathways to community engagement strategies. The day started strong with Philadelphia Councilmember Rue Landau presenting TLC with an honorary citation recognizing Digital Inclusion Week and the organization's work. We also heard opening remarks from TLC's Board Chair Nikki Pumphrey, Temple University President Richard Englert, and TLC's Executive Director Kate Rivera. After welcoming remarks, we kicked things off with an inspiring keynote panel featuring Caitlyn Brazill, Anuj Gupta, Danae Mobley, and Dan Kamins. They dove into “Building Lasting Impact: Local and National Perspectives on Digital Equity,” highlighting the importance of collaboration in creating meaningful, long-term change. As the day continued, attendees moved through breakout sessions on topics including A.I., empowering immigrants, health and wellness, and the future of public internet. Speakers shared big picture insights, actionable takeaways, and the opportunity for peer-to-peer discussion, ensuring there was something for everyone to take back to their own work. We wrapped up with a powerful session led by Dr. Stephanie Perry and Juliet Fink-Yates, who shared Pennsylvanias and Philadelphia’s aligned plan for digital equity and opened the floor for feedback from attendees who know their communities best. As the conference came to a close, everyone left not just with fresh knowledge, but with a renewed sense of purpose. The TLC 2024 Annual Conference was a reminder that bridging the digital divide requires all of us—and by working together, we can truly make a difference! Thanks for being a part of our community!
